If you can buy your tickets online, do it, you can save few £. It was our first visit to Kew Gardens and I was very excited about it because I love all plants big and small 🙂 We started our tour of Kew Gardens at Lions gate. Your tickets will cover most of the attractions at the gardens but not the entrance to the Great Pagoda. Views from the Great Pagoda over Kew Gardens and London were amazing but you need to climb 253 steps, but it’s worth it. All of the plants, flowers, trees, shrubs, buildings, grass, architecture, art, sculptures, walks, benches, etc were very well maintained and the smell in each part of the gardens was amazing. Our favourite smell of the day had to be Rose Gardens, such an amazing experience. There are so many places to walk around but also a lot of seating and resting areas. As we didn’t follow the map we probably missed few of the attractions and were not able to see whole gardens during 1 day. I can’t choose a favourite attraction/place because I loved everything that I’ve seen from Temperate House, Great Pagoda, Palm House, Winter Gardens, Queens Garden,Treetop Walkway, Waterlily House to Japanese Gardens and more. There is so much to see and explore at Kew Gardens. I didn’t expect it to be so big. Remember to take plenty of water, sun cream, hat and comfy clothes and especially comfy shoes. Prices of food and drinks in the cafes were very high. So if you can bring your own snacks, food and drink it would save you few £ and you can have a picnic in gorgeous surroundings. I would love come back again during spring and/or autumn to see how the gardens transform during different seasons. There were 2 things that I didn’t like about the Kew Gardens. First is the sound of planes flying above the gardens every couple of minutes but I assume it’s normal for people living in London and I understand that there is no way to reduce the noise or get rid of it. Second thing is inability to touch sculptures and art displayed in the gardens. It’s so hard to describe Kew Gardens is few words so please view my photos.
