We stayed at Letoonia Golf Resort Hotel in June 2019 for a week. We travelled with FirstChoice.

I have to say that Letoonia Golf Resort Hotel reception is the least representative part of this hotel, but you are not going to spend a lot of time at the reception. Our check in and check out was quick, professional and also very friendly. We have been escorted to our room and we could start our holiday within 15 minutes of arriving.

Room 1542

Our room was located in the main building on the 5th floor (1542). We had a view over the main pools, gardens with stream, river, beach and sea. Our room was good size with 2 comfy beds (1 double and 1 single), fridge with soft drinks, (water, soft drinks and beer) bathroom had plenty of little toiletries, fluffy towels, slippers, bathrobes and great shower. We also had small balcony with table and 2 wooden chairs. There was only 1 problem with our room, light in the bathroom and in the bedroom was really bad for makeup. I had to do my makeup in front of the mirrored wardrobe under the spotlight. It’s not a huge issue more an extra improvement for the future. Our room was cleaned daily, fridge was replenished daily and towels and bedding were replaced as often as we needed. If you are looking for a quiet room don’t stay in the main building. You can hear music from evening shows to at least 11pm sometimes longer. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing I’m just warning people who need peace and quiet. It didn’t bother us but it might annoy some people.

Pools

Letoonia Golf Resort Hotel main pool is really big with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. Towels provided by the hotel are bigger than in other hotels that we’ve visited, it was a nice surprise. We had been exchanging our towels at the spa just because it was on our way back to the room and spa is open longer than towel booth. Water in the pool was really warm and I had plenty of space to swim on my shell lilo. Main pool is divided into 2 parts. Deeper and quieter part on the one side of the bridge with build in Jacuzzi and shallower part with 3 slides and fountain which is more suitable for kids. There is also Olympic size swimming pool perfect for swimmers. Some of the daily animation activities are taking place in this pool.

There are also 2 more pools at Letoonia Golf Resort Hotel, both are hidden in the gardens close to the reception. Both are shell shaped, 1 is a quiet pool with a Jacuzzi, hammocks and outdoor chess next to it and second one is available for everyone. There is also a small bar close to both pools.

Bars near the pools

There are 3 bars around the main pool. One is a Vitamin bar serving healthy and freshly squeezed juices (orange, carrot, cucumber, tomato and grapefruit), slushies, ice cream and waffles. The other one next to the colourful chairs serves soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. There is also a Blue bar at the back of the amphitheatre but I’m not sure if it was open during our stay.

Beach

Beach which was my favourite part of the holiday and Letoonia Golf Resort Hotel. You can access the beach through the bridge. There are few different sections at the beach. Starting from the left hand side we have beach badminton, Latino hammocks, blue day beach beds cushions (my favourite) with Reggae music, standard sun loungers with comfy cushions and parasols (plenty of them), beach disco, chopstick restaurant (it was closed during our stay), beach bar, Letoonia chair, more sun loungers and parasols, beach volley ball court and other sports and water sports centre. Beach bar was quite busy during our stay and staff’s English wasn’t the best but we manage to order what we wanted most of the time. There are also few water stations at the beach so if you fancy a cold or hot glass of water you don’t have to go to the bar. Beach bar is also serving lunch and snacks but we haven’t tried it so i can’t comment on it. Top tip, if you want to spend your day on the blue day beds cushions you need to reserve it before 8:30 am. But believe me it’s worth it. You don’t need to reserve other sun loungers because there are always few available during the day (at the beach and at the pool). Beach is mostly sandy with small stones close to the sea. Water in the sea was warm and it can get quite choppy depending on the time of the day and the weather. Water gets quite deep quite fast and entrance to the sea is covered in small stones so remember to wear your water shoes to avid the pain. There is a floating platform that you can swim to to sunbathe or just to enjoy the views of the beach and the hotel.

Bars and restaurants

We used main restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We had been sitting outside most of the time but be advise it can get busy and hard to find a table during the busiest times so try and avoid the peak times. Food in the main restaurant was good although I would love to see more variety. Breakfast got quite repetitive after a week. There were different themes during dinner (Chinese, Turkish, fish) and some of the food was prepared outside of the restaurant. All food was freshly prepared and always warm. Yes there were queues to some some food stations but you could fill your plate with other food and come back later when there were less people at those stations. During dinner drinks were served by waiters and during breakfast there was a wide selection of juices, smoothies, tees, coffees and freshly squeezed orange juice (you had to squeeze it yourself, it was quite messy but fun too). For lunch we used the Mediterranean restaurant with beautiful view over the river but smaller food selection than main restaurant has. I can highly recommend fish and chips, but pizzas and pastas were also delicious. Desserts were also lovely, we tried cheesecake and profiteroles with ice cream (my favourite). I already mentioned earlier in my review 2 pool bars, blue bar and beach bar. There was 1 more bar in the lobby of the main hotel building. It was always quiet so if you fancy a takeaway drink or just a quiet place to sit and relax this is your bar. Main bar next to the pool got very busy each evening and it was quite hard to find empty seats.

Entertainment

Although we didn’t take part in any of the day or evening activities, I’ve seen people taking part in water aerobics (both sea and pool), archery, yoga, darts, boccia, volleyball, etc and having a lot of fun. We haven’t seen any of the evening shows but we listened to the live music, which was OK. Even if we didn’t want to listen to the evening entertainment we were able to hear it in our room, so if you are looking for a quiet room (music stopped around 11pm) choose bungalows rather than main building.

Spa

There is a spa in the main building of Letoonia Golf Resort Hotel. You can use indoors swimming pool, Jacuzzi, which is very cold, various saunas and Turkish bath for free. For our last day at the hotel I’ve booked a Luxury Spa Program lasting 2h and worth 80 euros. It consisted of peeling, foam massage (in Turkish bath), hot stone massage, face massage and face mask. It was my first experience with Turkish bath and I really enjoyed it. My skin felt very clean and soft after this treatment. I was surprised that male rather than female therapist was doing this treatment.I didn’t feel uncomfortable, I just found it weird. Then I had one of the best hot stone full body massages and a face massage in my life, again with a male therapist. Be careful face mask is just a face mask not a proper facial as I expected and there was an unpleasant surprise after having a cup of Turkish tea in a relaxation room after my treatments. I was asked to wash off my face mask myself in a sink. Most of the therapists speak basic English so it was pointless trying to explain that the therapist should remove my face mask not me. As I mentioned earlier this Luxury Spa treatment treatment was advertised as 2h treatment but it was over after less than 1.5h. Turkish bath and massage were wonderful and I highly recommend it but overall I was slightly disappointed by how the treatment ended.

Hotel grounds and gardens

Letoonia Golf Resort Hotel grounds and gardens were very clean and very well maintained. There is a beautiful tunnel leading from the reception to the main building and main pool. The smell of flowers, plants and trees is amazing, especially in the morning and in the evening. The same with main restaurant outside seating area. There are a lot of sculptures and fountains planted around the hotel, you can find everything from snails, turtles, bulls to Buddha. There are also a lot of colourful plants, flowers and trees around the hotel. Close to the reception there are large mirrored freestanding Letoonia letters, definitely worth visiting. Also next to the river and the bridge there 2 beautiful benches with Letoonia sign.
