We arrived in Rhodes old town in the morning. We had an idea of what we want to see but we decided not to follow the map and the rest of the tourists. We went to explore the mosaic covered pebble streets that we liked the look of and we we were lucky enough to find few gems 🙂 Yes you will end up in the same places at least few times. For example we visited street of the Knights at least 10 times 🙂 Rhodes old town is small enough so you will finally end up in the most popular place. I highly recommend purchasing 10 euro ticket covering entrance to the Palace of the Grand Master, Archaeological Museum, Decorative Arts Collection and Panag Tou Kastrou (church). You should purchase this ticket even if you are planning to visit only first 2 attractions. I would like to see more signs with directions because we went past few of the main attractions at least few times and we didn’t even realise that this was it. My favourite places in Rhodes old town have to be: Archaeological Museum – mix of beautiful architecture, pottery, greenery, sculptures and mosaics. Street of the Knights – which leads to and from all main attractions. Roloi Clock Tower – views from top of the tower over Rhodes old town are great and with your ticket you get a free drink at the bar. The bar is located on beautiful terrace and surrounded by many artefacts. Windmills – beautiful view over the harbour and Rhodes old town. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurant in Rhodes old town so just get lost and enjoy your time. Remember to wear comfy shoes, hat, sunglasses and sun cream.
